Ethics on Retweeting on Twitter.com

Keeping your emotions a live to the Internet community has been a constant goal. Most Social Media websites gives you the option to Voice those thoughts out loud. Speak your thoughts aloud, on this free social networking site – Twitter.com. This service enables users to send and read text-based messages (up to a maximum of 140 characters). The messages are called Tweets. You can easily be a part of a conversation or be the trend setter. Its natural human tendency to have an opinion and why not reply to peoples thoughts. Give your 2 cents of a thought.
Twitter at this point supports the option of replying to a Tweet or better known as Re-tweet (RT). This is a very good technique for getting more traffic and backlinks to your blog. The other alternatives to RT is using 3rd party applications like HootSuite.com, iTweet.com, TwitZap.
I believe every individual with a Twitter account has encountered a confused experience when there are a lot of RT’s in a single topic. Read through the below few steps to make RT’ing easier and more readable.
Currently there are two methods to do re-tweeting.
  1. Simply hover over a Tweet, click the ‘Retweet’ link, and you’re done! A click of a button shares an interesting tweet with all of your followers
  2. Use a 3rd party application
• Before you RT, take a minute and figure out is this really something you want to share with the 100’s or 1000 of followers?
• Check the authenticity of the link available on the Tweet
• What is the level of trust you gather from the persons Tweet
• Is this RT going to provide Value to your Follower?
• How will this RT, benefit your Personal Brand?
Whether it is a link, quote, or interesting information, add value to what’s been said before by contributing in your own words something relevant to the content. Give your opinion, be critical, and be complimentary. This presents that you have actually looked at it rather than just simply forwarding it on.
